How to record wallet screen video for a clear demo
A useful demo recording needs legible screens, smooth transitions, no personal notifications, and a disclosure that remains visible when the clip is reposted. This guide covers that production workflow.

The short answer
To record wallet screen video in RPWallet: launch the app from its home-screen icon for an uncluttered view, configure the simulated balances and tokens needed for the lesson, enable Do Not Disturb so personal notifications do not appear, and use your phone's built-in screen recorder. Record short takes, add a persistent simulated or demo label, and review the final clip for private data before publishing.
Before you start
- RPWallet installed to the home screen — recording a browser tab puts an address bar in every frame.
- Balances, tokens and any custom logos set up before you start.
- Your phone's built-in screen recorder: Control Centre on iOS, quick settings on Android.
- A few minutes to record several short takes. Retakes are cheaper than edits.
Recording a clean take
Most of the work happens before recording starts. The recording itself should be boring.
Launch from the home-screen icon
Open the installed PWA rather than the site in a browser tab. Launched from its icon it runs full screen without an address bar or toolbar competing with the lesson or product walkthrough.
Set the wallet up first
Configure the balances, tokens, logos, and interface before recording so the clip stays focused on the workflow being explained. Keep the setup screens in the recording only when they are part of the lesson.
Turn on market price jitter
Settings → Market price jitterIf the demo is specifically about price movement, enable market price jitter in Settings and choose how it applies: On refresh moves figures after a pull-to-refresh, Polling uses a timed tick, and Both does each. Explain that this is simulated movement rather than a live trading feed.
Clean up the status bar
Turn on Do Not Disturb so a real message, sender name, or notification preview cannot appear in the recording. Review the status bar and the rest of the frame for any personal information before publishing.
Record short takes and let transitions finish
Start the recorder, wait two seconds before touching anything, then move at the pace someone actually uses a wallet — a beat on each screen, not a rapid tour. Let the app's own animations play out; they were rebuilt to match the real ones, and cutting between screens throws away the part that sells it. Stop, then record the next beat separately.
Trim rather than speed up
Cut the dead handle at each end and join the takes. Resist speeding footage up: sped-up wallet animations run at a cadence no real app has, and it is more noticeable than the dead air you were trying to remove.
If something goes wrong
- There is an address bar at the top of my recording.
- You recorded a browser tab, not the installed app. Add RPWallet to your home screen and launch it from the icon — it then runs full screen with no browser chrome at all.
- The numbers do not move and it looks like a still.
- Market price jitter is off, or set to On refresh, which only moves figures after a pull-to-refresh. Set it to Polling or Both so values move on a timed tick during the take.
- A notification appeared mid-take.
- Do Not Disturb was off. Turn it on before recording. This is the most common reason an otherwise perfect take has to be redone.
- The recording is choppy when animations play.
- Screen recording and animation compete for the same frames on older phones. Close background apps, keep the recording under a minute, and record at the phone's native resolution rather than a downscaled setting.
- It looks right on my phone but wrong on a big screen.
- Review at full size before publishing. Confirm the text and logos remain legible, no private information appears, and the simulated or demo label is visible throughout the relevant portion of the clip.
Make the simulation unmistakable
Put a simulated or demo label inside the video frame, not only in a caption that may disappear when the clip is reposted. Do not use wallet footage as proof of funds, investment performance, or ownership of the displayed assets.
Say what it is
If the footage is going somewhere public, label it. A line in the caption saying the wallet is a simulation costs nothing on a piece of entertainment or educational content, and it is the difference between a novelty clip and something that reads as a claim about money you have. Content that induces someone to send funds or buy on the strength of a simulated balance is a prohibited use, not a grey area.
Record wallet screen video FAQ
Do I need a separate recording app?
No. The screen recorder built into iOS and Android is better than most third-party apps for this: no watermark, no frame limit, and it captures at the phone's native resolution.
How do I get the figures to move on camera?
Turn on market price jitter in Settings and set it to Polling or Both. Values then move on a timed tick during the take rather than only after a manual refresh.
Should I record vertically or horizontally?
Vertically. The wallet interfaces are phone-shaped, and a vertical recording fills a short-form frame without cropping or pillarboxing.
Can I record the swap and send flows?
Yes. Those screens are rebuilt animation for animation, so the confirmation sequences play out the way the real ones do. Let them finish rather than cutting away — the animation is the part that carries the shot.
Is footage from a wallet simulator allowed on social platforms?
Entertainment, educational and demo content generally is, and labelling it as a simulation keeps you inside most platforms' rules. Presenting simulated balances as real holdings to solicit money is not, on any platform, and is a prohibited use of RPWallet.
How do I make larp clips for TikTok?
Set the wallet up before you record, launch it from the home-screen icon so no address bar is in frame, turn on market price jitter so the figures move during the take, and record short takes vertically with Do Not Disturb on. Label the clip as a simulation in the caption — it costs nothing and keeps the content inside most platforms' rules.
